About Us

The Northwest Haiti Christian Mission Canada, established in 2004, is an independent Christian organization devoted to serving the northwest region of Haiti in the name of Jesus Christ. Our ministry in Haiti includes short and long term mission trips, medical care, establishing and supporting local churches, evangelism and shipping donated supplies into the country. Presently we are looking forward to planting a church and eventually a new mission on the island of Tortuga which is lies off the coast of the northwest. We work in cooperation with the Northwest Haiti Christian Mission, USA.

Mission Statment

The Mission of Northwest Haiti Christian Mission Canada is outlined in two places in the Words of our Lord:

  1. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (Mat 25:31-40)

Under this mandate:

  • We help the helpless in Haiti.
  • We feed the hungry.
  • We have been doing whatever we can for the strangers – the refugees who come to our area of Haiti.
  • We provide clean water, and look for ways to do this for entire communities.
  • We are assisting homeless orphans both infant and up to the age of sixteen years, handicapped children and abandoned elderly people in homes within the mission campus. We have set in place Canadian Sponsorship programs for Canadians to supply the personal and individual needs of these who cannot help themselves.
  • We are clothing those who need basic clothing, shoes, sleeping mats.
  • We are visiting the prisons, taking food and medicine. Thirty-two prisoners were baptized last month.
  • We have been helping the sick. We shipped almost $2m in medicines, taking five different medical teams to Haiti last year. We supply the pharmacy and the surgery.

We do these things, not so that we can be a humanitarian aid organization, but so that we may honour our Lord and be of help the ‘least of these’ His brethren.

  1. And he said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mar 16:15-18)

Under this mandate:

  • We preach the Gospel, the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ to everyone, on the wayside, in the marketplaces, in their huts, in the churches, and schools.
  • We often bring missionaries, who being convicted by the Holy Spirit, repent, and receive Jesus into their lives.
  • We teach Canadians how to share their faith with others, how to love the unlovable, how to minister to the sick, and how to lead others to Jesus.
  • We conduct Post Surgical worship services for patients, morning and evening, in the hospital facility.
  • We teach the children and mothers who assemble for special nutrition, while facing death from starvation.
  • We baptize new believers by immersion. Most often, where ever possible, we have the native pastor baptize, recognizing his on-going role in the teaching of the Family of God after we go home.
  • We take materials, conduct workshops, and encourage native pastors through the Bible College, and teach seminars in the local churches for pastors, church women’s groups, elders, and children.
  • We pray for the sick, laying hands on them. Many do recover!
